Ok, so I meant to post right after the first garage sale, to say how we did and when the next one was, but in that time I had a wedding and then exam prep and then exams, so I was a little stressed out for a while there. Let me just fill you in now:

1. The garage sale went fantastically. We had some good volunteers and some very generous peope, both with donations and buying things. The end result???

!!!!!$831!!!!!

2.The next garage sale was a little slower than the first, only getting about $364.27, but the same thing happened last year, so I'm okay with that.

3. The total bolton garage sales added up to !!!!$1095.27!!!! which when you think about it is petty darn tootin for a garage sale.

4. The Brampton garage sale went well, making a total of $335! I would like to say a big thank you to Jenna for helping us out and to Carly who got out of bed at 4:45 am (which I can assure you is no small miracle). At five a.m. we were out in the rain on our bikes putting out signs. I would also like to thank all of our parents for helping us aswell :)

Now I'm sure you are all wondering what the grand total is. If you think that you already know from adding up the subtotals, well think again. There were some things not included there. Ha. The grand total so far is:

!$2404!

And now it is time for the happy dance!

Italy

Two weeks ago, I got back from a school trip to Italy. 56 kids from the music department went on a ten day trip to Venice, Florence and Rome. We also went to a few smaller places like Padova and Luca and Vatican City (which is not in Italy). We were in Venice for two days, Florence for four days and Rome for two days as well. We say things like the Colosseum, St. Peters Basilica, St. Marks Basilica, and lots and lots of churches.

I went on a gondola!

My favorite place was Luca, me and my friends rented Bikes for an hour and rode around the city wall which was really beautiful. It was also really painful because the night before that, I had a really bad fall and hurt my arm pretty bad. I couldn't move my arm past a ninety degree angle, which means I couldn't reach the handlebars. Or get my hand anywhere near my face for that matter. Two weeks later and I still don't have my full range of motion back.

I went on a gondola!

I'm sure your wondering what the heck I could have fallen off of to hurt myself so badly. The truth is, I was just stepping over a chain tied between two posts when My foot caught and down I went. But you see, I was provoked. As I was stepping over this chain, one of my teachers called out “Oh no Keira, don't fall!” I looked up to glare at him and my foot didn't quite clear the chain. Down I went. He felt petty bad about it. And don't call me a klutz, It was only partly my fault, right?

Right.

Did you know that I went on a gondola?

It was so beautiful in Italy and the food was so good, coming back to Canada just didn't feel right. What also didn't feel right is the six hour time difference. Which, by the way, I cant seem to shake. I have been up since 4am everyday this week, though I suppose that is a big improvement from getting up at 2am last week.

Oh Italy, how I miss thee.

...and the gondola.

Thank You's and Garage Sale's

Updating fail. Please forgive my foolishness. I will do better.

On a lighter note, the Grand Total is now $924.26 dollars! A big thank you to Cheryl Pickess and the Caledon Treblemkers for donating $300 from their winter concert proceeds and for letting me hold a raffle which made $224. One Treblemaker in particular, Jessica Sole, donated $24.26 from success at the E-fair. Thank you Jessica:) Another big thank you goes to Daryl Yong for donating $100. Thank you thank you thank you! You are all wonderful people:)

The big garage sale has been turned int two for this year, one in Bolton and one in Brampton. The Bolton one is schedule for may 14th and the Brampton date is yet to be determined. My friend Carly Morrison is going to donate her driveway for the day to support the cause. Yay Carly!

Its not over yet folks. There's 3 months left and I still think we have a chance at the original goal, five thousand. Lets see what happens...

For Brennan

I know this has nothing to do with Toonies For Twins, but I need to do this, I need to put this here, for everyone to remember.

On november 9th, a boy at my school, Brennan McCartnrey, commited suicide. It was a shock to everyone, and every day, I still see people sobbing in the halways. Brennan was a trumpet major in the music program, he was on the rugby team, he took two girls to prom because they didnt have dates. He was on my bus, he lived a couple streets away from me, he was in my department at school (music), and even though I never knew him, its still hard to think that Im alive while one of my peers, a boy who lived in my town, is dead. I will look at things out the window of the bus, things that he once looked at too, I will walk down the halways at school and sit in clasroooms where he once walked and sat in too. But, unfortunatly, he never will again.

Brennan was a boy who coulnt see any other way out, a way to get past his misery. He will be sorely missed with heavy hearts.

In the words of Rasal Flats, why did you leave the stage in the middle of the song, Brennan? Who ever told you life wasnt worth the fight? They were wrong, they lied. Now your gone, and we cry. 'Cause its not like you to walk away in the middle of a song.

This ones for you, Brennan. Rest easy.

Good Things Are Happening!

Hello there. Lots of things have been happening lately that I feel should be made public. First of all, I have started making and selling these beaded bookmarks and have made over a hundred dollars on them alone. This has turned out to be a very effective way of fundraising and is going far better than I ever hoped for. Yay! Right now we are sitting at about $150, which is a pretty good start. Yay readers!

For anyone who was keeping track from last year, the local choir The Trebelmakers (which I have now been officially booted from because Im 'too old') has decided to sponsor Toonies For Twins again this year. This was a really good thing last time and they really helped with fundraising. The kids this year are even more into it than they were last time! There is going to be a raffle at the winter concert and if anyone has anything to donate, it would be greatly apreciated. Thank you Trebelmakers!

I think thats all for now. If anyone has any ideas for fundraising or wants to donate just send me a message

Happy Birthday!

Today is Tatiana and Kristas 4th birthday! This is a big milestone for conjoined twins, especially when doctors say they might not survive at all. I want everyone to make a wish for the girls and if you need a little inspiration, just look their way.
Happy Birthday Girls!

A new Beginning

Hi. Its been a year, and to tell the truth, I have been putting this off for quite a while now because I am upset with myself for not doing anything last year. High school was a bit of a sensory overload for me, too many changes happening all at once. I needed some time to get back on my feet. Since I last wrote anything here, my braces have come off, and retainers have come in their place, I made some really great friends and lost some equally great ones as well. I got an 80 in math ( by the skin of my teeth) and passed all my exams. My hair got chopped off again, and I spent a wonderfull summer in Ireland with my extended family. One of the most earth-shattering changes came when I learned that Emma and Taylor Bailey, the twins I had decided last year to fund-raise for, had passed away. They will be sorely misses by all, gone but never forgotten.
With Emma and Taylor's memory burning brightly, and fiercly in our hearts, this year we have decided to help a family a little closer to home. Tatiana and Krista Hogan live in Vernon, British Columbia. The girls are craniopagus conjoined twins, which means tat they are joined at the head and in this case, can never be seperated. But from what I have seen and heard of these soon-to-be four-year-olds, they are probably the happiest girls in the world, with a family who loves them dearly and a promise that no matter how hard things get, they will never be alone. Lets help them, like we helped Erin, make things even a little bit easier. The goal this year is five thousand folks, lets do for Tatiana and Krista what we would have done for Emma and Taylor. I know we can.
If you read back a few posts, you'll probably remember the reference I made to having two families in mind. Those families were the Hogan's and the Bailey's. I will always wonder what would have happened had I continued last year, but since I will never know, I am dedicating this years efforts to Emma and Taylor. Please, always keep a special place in your hearts for these girls, for they were gone too soon. But also keep a special place in your hearts for Tatiana and Krista, for they live life to its fullest every single day.

Im A Nut!

I know that I didn’t update for a while there but this time I actually do have a good reason. I just started high school this week and its nuts. The school is nuts, the kids are nuts and the schedule is nuts. And now I’m a nut! Its really different from my old school and there is nobody I know with the same time lunch as me:( But there is next term:)
I have decided to help fundraise for Emma and Taylor Bailey, Twins joined at the heart. As you can imagine, that is quite a problem since everyone needs a heart to live. I e-mailed the Bailey’s a week ago about it but they still haven’t gotten back to me yet. But I don’t blame them considering the fact that they have six kids! But when they do get back to me, I will put up a picture and description of Emma and Taylor. (Which means I have to take down the one of Erin :( ) Speaking of Erin, I would like to thank anyone who has ever helped me in my fundraising journey. It really does mean the world to me and I know we made Erin happy (I saw her face when she looked at the money) If we can do the same for the Baileys that would be great :) B’bye now!

PS: Im writing this on a school computer and the keyboard stinks! It took me forever!

Oops, I Did It Again!

I know, I know, I'm a horrible updater, but cut me some slack! I think I been very religious in my updating for the past few weeks and my brain needed time to rest. I shall start where I left off…

After we left Washington, we went to New York City for five days. We did all kinds of stuff!... How about a list?

We...
Saw times square
Went to MnM world
Saw the statue of liberty
Saw Ellis island
Saw The Phantom Of The Opera
Went to a comedy club
SAW WICKED!
Went on a tour bus
Ended up with eight books!
Went on a ferry
Jumped in a sprinkler (your shocked, I know)
Went on a night tour
Went to the top of the empire state building
Saw a naked cowboy…don’t ask
Went to FAO Schwartz ( BIG toy store)

And I think that just about covers it. We managed to do all that in five days! I was so tired when we finally got home. And, might I add, very ready to sleep in my own bed!

Best trip in my whole entire life!

Some have been wondering if this is the end for Toonies For Twins. The answer is no. I am still fundraising to help conjoined twins and probably will be doing so all my life. I have narrowed it down to two candidates and will let you all know once everything is settled. One day this will be a big corporation like the make a wish foundation, but until then I'm doing it the old fashioned way. Hard labor and lots of help.

Now, since the big trip is over, (and high schools beginning. Joy.) I probably won’t be updating as frequently. But fear not, I won’t be as negligent as I was last week.
Should anything important occur.

Ta Ta for now!

Canadian Embassy

Yesterday was a big day. I didn’t realize I hadn’t mentioned this before, so I’ll have to explain it all now. As everyone knows, I’m here in Washington to present the money to Erin and her family. What I forgot to tell you is that it was arranged so I would present the money to Paws For People at the Canadian embassy! Terry and Diana were there from Paws for people and a representative from the Canadian embassy was there as well. The night before the presentation I was told I was going to have to say a few words. Of course I didn’t get much sleep that night. When we got to the embassy there was a guy with a TV camera! Nobody told me about that either! I got to meet SOLOMON, Erins future dog, and they are so good together! Everyone there thought I was bringing a cheque but I had it all in cash. I’ll tell you why later. First the guy from the Canadian embassy spoke, then Terry, then me, then Melissa (she got all choked up. Awww) and then we took pictures. Jade insisted on having one with just me and nobody else in it. When Erin opened the envelope and saw all the money her face was priceless! That’s why I brought cash. A cheque means nothing to a five-year-old. Cash on the other hand…you can see! I later found out that Erin wanted to keep the original envelope I gave her the money in. They had to go find a new one to give to Paws For People. Isn’t that cute? After all that, we went out side to Play for a while. Jade held my hand as we were walking. SO CUTE. We played tag for a while but Erin was getting too hot. I think Taylor was too. Jade asked me when I was coming back from New York. She thought I was coming back to Washington after that. I had to tell her that after New York I was going back to Canada. When it was time to go she asked if they could call us. SO CUTE. I got some big hugs From Taylor and Jade and Erin. And Melissa too. Erin and Jade couldn’t stop waving and saying goodbye from the van. Best Conjoined Twins Day EVER!

Happy Conjoined Twins Day

Happy Conjoined Twins Day! Today is the day we think about all the conjoined twins who have won their fight for life. And we remember all the twins who havnt. The day for Conjoined Twins Day is august 21st because an eight turned on its side is the sign for infinity. That symbolized the bond that has been forever made between the twins, and the infinite love their families have for them. Even if, when they say goodnight to their babies their looking up at them instead of standing over them. The day is the 21st because it means two souls in one body. I have to go now, but do me a favor and think about this for a bit.

Best Day Ever

Yesterday was the best day ever. At first I was apprehensive to say that, because the day with the Herrins was equally awesome, but my mom helped me clear it all up. My day with the Herrins was the best birthday ever. My day with the Buckles was the best day ever. See how that works? Jade and Erin and Taylor were a little shy at first but after a while they were fine. We watched their documentary that was on Discovery Health---which we didn’t get in Canada---and we played Wii. I got my but kicked by a seven-year-old and two five-year-olds. Erin is really good! We played perfection on the floor and we all screamed when it popped! Me and Jade played follow the leader. Some things are a little easier when you’re five. When you’re thirteen, they hurt. Erin told her mom it was the best day ever. Jade said I was her new best friend :). When it was time for us to go, Jade started to cry. It almost made me cry. Poor Jade. Best. Day. Ever. Ahhh. Here are some pictures.

Opryland

Yesterday was an awesome day. We walked down to Opryland and the Opry Mills mall. On our way there, we had to pas through this big hotel called the Gaylord (giggle). It was huge! We stopped to get Ice cream and sat in this indoor garden thingy for a while. I got picture taken with some horses. At one point we went to this big fancy washroom in the middle of a ballroom. It was shocking. It looked bigger than my house. There was even a waiting area. Everything in that hotel was big and fancy. After we were done looking around, we continued on our way to the mall. Half way there we realized I forgot my Mothers camera in the big fancy washroom! We had to double back and hope it was there. Thankfully it was. We walked around the mall for a while and I got a cowboy hat and boots! They are so awesome! We ate lunch at the Rainforest cafĂ© for the first time and I loved it. Mom thought it was to cold but she liked it too. After the Mall we went for a tour of the Grand Ole Opry. It was so cool. We got to go back stage and on stage and I learned some new things. Me and my mother got a cool picture with cowboy hats and guitars in front of the Grand Ole Opry stage. After the tour, we went back to the mall to see ‘The Time travelers Wife’. It was so sad. But it was a really good movie. As we were leaving the mall we realized I forgot my cowboy hat in the theater. UHG. Not my day. I ran back and luckily it was still there. As we were walking back, I slipped on a puddle and went down very hard on my hip. DUBBLE UHG. Really not my day! I was fine once we got back to the hotel but it still really hurt! Over there ---> is the total amount for Erin If you want to check it out. Here are pictures of yesterday. Enjoy!

Nashville And Colorado

Yesterday we woke up early an said goodbye to Colorado…and hello to Nashville! The plane ride stunk though. We weren’t sitting together and I was squashed in the middle of two strangers. Oh well. When we got to the hotel we did absolutely nothing for the whole night. It was a welcomed break.

Colorado was fun, we were only really there for one day and we went shopping. Now, usually I don’t encourage, enjoy, or approve of shopping but that day wasn’t so bad. I got some good back to school clothes.

Today we are going to Opryland. My mother is very excited about that. I am excited about getting an “authentic” cowboy hat. Its authentic cos we’re in Nashville! I’ll tell you how it went later. Bye!

The Train To Denver

I officially hate trains. It’s such a shame too because I was so looking forward to the train ride from Utah to Denver. What a waste of excitement. Here are the things I learned yesterday.

One: waking up at three in the morning stinks
Two: getting on a train at four in the morning stinks even more
Three: trains are virtually impossible to sleep on
Four: I am very grumpy when I don’t get enough sleep
Five: train food stinks
Six: if you leave a sub in a bag for eight hours it tastes nasty
Seven: I can finish a book in fifteen hours
Eight: if you sit it a chair and don’t stand up for fifteen hours you will feel it later
Nine: I really hate trains

But now I'm in Denver and all is well. Choo Chooooo!

Best Birthday Ever

Yesterday was the greatest birthday of my life. I woke up and could hardly contain myself. We were going to meet the Herrin’s at noon and we needed to go into town to get a bag. By the time we got back it was eleven and we were sort of scrambling to get ready. The whole time I was singing show tunes in my head and out loud, trying to pass the time. When the cab got here I actually started hyperventilating! By the time we got to the Herrin’s I was actually shaking with anticipation and excitement. Erin Herrin answered the door and gave me a big hug. Then we went to meet the kids, they were all in the kitchen and Kendra was sitting on the counter. (I was sooo surprised ;)) I thought that they were going to be shy, especially Maliyah because she’s so timid, but boy was I wrong. We went to surf and swim (which was a wave pool) and I got to hang out with Maliyah the whole time! We played and splashed and she was so brave in the waves. I was very impressed with her. At one point she asked me where I was from. When I told her Canada she said: “do you see a lot of moose’s there?” that was so cute! After the wave pool we went back to their house for a barbecue dinner. It was so awesome. After dinner I played with the kids for a while and then I was surprised with a cake and a present. Best. Birthday. Ever. They gave me a copy of When Hearts Conjoin signed by the entire family! It was so great. After cake and ice cream, I had a little something for the kids to open. It was just a bag of goodies; it had some markers and card games and things like that. Me and Kendra and Maliyah and Erin and my mom played go fish. It was so cute. The things that seven year olds say are just too funny! Me and Kendra lost, but everyone else won. I showed Erin my Utah beads and she really liked them. (My Utah beads are my special counting beads. I have put a bead on every day since I e-mailed Erin last year) I got to talk with Erin and Jake about conjoined twins and such and I learned a lot of new things. When it was finally time to go, I gave my Utah beads to Erin to keep. I had been contemplating for weeks on what I should do with them and after seeing how Erin liked them so much, I knew that they would be in good hands. It was kinda hard to give them up after having them with me all year, but I felt it was the right thing to do. Jake Herrin drove us back to the hotel with Kendra and Maliyah. I got some real nice hugs and managed to hold back the tears until they drove away. Best birthday ever.

I Like Water

Well, am I ever wet! You shall see why… today we walked down to the mall here in Salt Lake City and it was great. A little too sunny for my liking, but great all the same. We had a few things to buy today and they were not easy findings. There was no place to get an SD card in the mall, so we took a tramie thingie around the city. We were trying to find a Best Buy and we were told there was one along the route we were on. Unfortunately we were too stupid to realize that we kept getting off before the stop we should have. We just thought we kept missing it. After we finally found the Best Buy and got back to the mall, three hours had gone by. I tell ya, it takes special people to make a trip that should have taken twenty minutes and turn it into a three hour joyride. After that, we went to this splash pad thingy in the middle of the mall (it was an outdoor mall) and I jumped in with all my clothes on…even though I had a swimsuit with me. Then we had lunch and by the time we got back to the hotel I was very, very cold! And now we’ve come full circle. Here are some pictures of today. Enjoy!

me on the tram

me at the splash thingy

Tomorrow is a big day; we are going to meet the Herrins!...and its my fourteenth birthday. I can’t say I’m exited about turning fourteen, but I can say that I'm ecstatic about what we are doing to celebrate! I honestly can’t believe that this day has finally come. It seems like I have been waiting forever…well, when your thirteen, patience is not a strong point. Stay tuned for tomorrow!

Salt Lake City

Guess where I am! That’s right, we have just arrived in Salt Lake City, Utah and it is so cool! I AM SOOOO EXCITED! It seemed like this day would never come, but its finally here and its finally happening. I can hardly contain myself! It was not easy getting here. We were so late getting to the airport today. Nothing seemed to happen as it should have and the more we hurried the slower we went. We had to drop of the geckos, pack, my mother needed a haircut, find a fish sitter, pack some more, go to the bank, clean the big gecko’s tank, have a shower…each…all before noon! Half way to the airport we realized we forgot a few things…ONE OF THEM BEING THE FISH! My poor Pika! He didn’t cross our minds all morning and now he is sitting at home all alone. I hope he will forgive me. Scratch that---I hope that he lives long enough to forgive me. The only things we did today were go on planes but that’s ok. Check in everyday for the next few weeks cos I will be updating A LOT.…sniff…I miss my babies…sniff…

Goodnight Ryan…

Goodnight Rory…
Goodnight Riley…
Goodnight Hope…
Goodnight Sydnie…
Goodnight Saoirse…
Goodnight Sapherron…
Yes. There are seven of them. LIZARD POWER!

The Trip!

Sorry for not updating again. There hasn’t been much to report up until now. This summer has been very boring so far and if you only knew how boring you would be thanking me for not updating. Anyways, enough of that. I am very excited to say that we are leaving for our trip on August 10th. First stop on the trip is a visit with the Herrin Twins in Salt Lake City, Utah. I get to meet them on August 12th (my birthday). Nice birthday present eh? I sure think so. After that we are taking the train to Denver, Colorado and from there we are flying to Nashville for 2 days. (I need a cowboy hat!) Then we will be meeting the Buckles family in Washington D.C. We will be in Washington for 6 days and from there we are going to New York City for 5 days. Thanks Mom! I am going to meet with the Buckles and give them the money we have fundraised for. Melissa Buckles, Erin and Jade’s mom is trying to arrange for me to meet Solomon, the dog that is being specially trained for Erin. I can’t wait! My Dad’s friend had very generously given me a cheque for $500 for Toonies for Twins. That is the most awesomist thing ever! Thank you so so so much Tony! That brings the grand total up to $3750 Canadian Dollars. I am not sure how much that will be when I transfer it to U.S. dollars but I’m sure it’s still a lot. Maybe Ill get lucky and the currency will change in my favor... Actually, I won’t count on that because I have horrid luck. I am very excited to be meeting the Herrin Twins on this trip. I have been waiting for this for a whole year! Kendra and Maliyah are also formerly conjoined twins. They have the same birthday as Erin and Jade, just 2 years apart. Kendra and Maliyah have recently been on TLC telling their story. They are former Omphalopagus\Ischiopagus twins. That basically means they were born joined at the abdomen and pelvis. They shared two legs and one kidney and I’m almost positive they are the first set of conjoined twins on record to be successfully separated with only one kidney. Kendra got the kidney and Maliyah received a transplant from her mother. You can see their full story on their website www.herrintwins.com I highly recommend it! Well, I must go, Bye!

Dreams

The trip is planned! It’s all set in stone, we are going to Utah to visit Kendra and Maliyah Herrin, and then we are going to Washington to visit the Buckles family and give them the money. Of course, we are stopping in a million places along the way but I won’t get into to much detail about all that. Meeting these families is about as important to me as it would be for another kid meeting the Jonas brothers or Hannah Montana. I can’t really explain why, but for some reason I feel that I’ve learned more about life from them that I have from sitting at a desk for eight years. And to me, that means every thing. Strength, hope, and determination are only some of the things I’ve learned. Another one is that it’s not all about me all the time and doing some thing for someone else is the most…fulfilling feeling that I have ever felt. I would like to thank every single person that has ever helped me or donated to Toonies For Twins. Truthfully it’s not me who raised this money. Its you. I only told you about it, you all made the decision to be apart of this. So from the bottom of my heart I thank you. You’re not only helping me with my dream, but you’re helping Erin with hers. I know you all feel the same as I do about what you did. And I know I’ve said it twice already but ill say it again anyways. Thank you

...Me Again!

Ok I know that it’s been a reeeaaly long time since I updated but I had a legitimate reason which ill get to later. Fist on the very long agenda is that the raffle at school went very well, making a good amount of about $100 dollars the first day of ticket sales went not so well but the rest of the week picked up after that. The awesome reason for not updating I had five minutes ago now seems really dumb but I’ll say it anyways. The week after I sold tickets, fifty of the grade eights (myself included) went to Montreal and Ottawa for five days. And before I forget, a big thank you to my friend Kynyn for selling raffle tickets the week I was away. The trip was great, the food…not so much. I think I lost five pounds that week from not eating…oh well. As I said I thought that was a good reason for not updating but the truth is, I got back two weeks ago…sorry! Anyways schools out and ill have much more time on my hand now. A big thank you to Mrs. Pickess who donated three hundred dollars from the Treblemakers (children’s choir I was in this year) concert. It was a shock to me and it was greatly appreciated. All this puts the grand total to over three thousand dollars! And in the exchange from Canadian to American will sit us at about exactly three thousand! Yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yay yaaaaaaaaay!...yay…hmmm… how do you top that! Anyways that’s all for tonight but here is your fact of the day: the first number chronologically with an A in it is one thousand! Just thought I’d share that. Bye!

PS: I feel I should mention the fact that I got a henna tattoo and had to write this whole update with one hand due to the fact that the other one is taped up. Grrr…

Garage Sale #2

Ok, I know that I haven’t updated in a while but you gotta cut me some slack. For some reason the teachers think its funny to wait till the end of the year, then give us a million projects and tests. Ha ha ha, it’s hilarious. Just thought Id let ya know. Anyways, the fundraising is really going well. As I said last time the big garage sale made eight hundred dollars which is absolutely fantastic but at the end we still had half the stuff left over so we had to do another one yesterday. That one went well too, making three hundred dollars. If you think about that’s 1100 dollars just from garage sale-ing. Wow. Just so it’s mentioned I will never EVER do another garage sale as long as I live. Ever. By the way that makes the total amount 2725 dollars. (I think there was a typo in the last post) I’m officially doing a raffle at my school tomorrow for go-kart passes, but before I do that I have to make an announcement for school about it by tomorrow. Better do that now…Bye!

Stuff

Ok, I have a lot to write so bare with me. First off I would like to thank the Grillo family for donating 100 dollars. (!) That puts us up to 1575 dollars which is very exciting. I also wanted to mention that the mini Indi go-cart track has very graciously donated 4 birthday passes to raffle off at my school. I am very excited to have such a great donation and a great prize for the raffle. Now I am sure that everyone wants to know how the garage sale went so I'll start at the beginning. I woke up at five and I knew I wasn’t going to get anymore sleep so I got up and we started setting up for the garage sale. I didn’t think we were doing badly but when we counted the money I was shocked. It was exactly eight hundred dollars! That puts us over the goal! I will add more details tomorrow but right now I’m too tired. Bye

The Date Has Been Changed!

I really need to get more consistent with my updates…sorry! On a lighter note, some more money has been donated to Toonies For Twins which brings the grand total to fourteen hundred and seventy five dollars! A big thank you to Katie and Robbie Bagio who donated fifty dollars! I have a big announcement for everyone and I’m going to put it in capitals so everyone reads it…THE GARAGE SALE HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE 23RD OF MAY…I had to change the date because the 16th is a bank holiday and that might affect the number of people who come. Sorry if that is an inconvenience for anyone. I’m planning on doing a raffle at my school soon but I have to talk to the principle first. Ill let you all know how that goes. Anyways I must go, bye!

It's Getting Closer...

For those who have been checking the little money meter you might have noticed that it went up. I would like to say a very special thank you to Ika and Boris Spremo, who donated fifty dollars to Toonies for Twins. There seems to have been a miscommunication so let me just say that the picture of Erin with her dog is at a training session. Erin does not yet own SOLOMON. SOLOMON is being trained especially for Erin so he needs to get used to her and how loud or quiet she is and whatnot. The garage sale is set for the 16 of May and the stuff just keeps piling up. I LOVE IT!!! And oh my gosh I have stuff to do. I really think that this garage sale will bring in at least 200$ and believe me that is absolutely fantastic! Thanks ya’ll!

Things Are Happening...

Oh my gosh! So much stuff is happening. The garage sale is scheduled for some time in May, maybe the 16th but that’s not set in stone. As you can probably see, I added a lot more stuff to the site. I put pictures of Erin and Jade, and a picture of Erin and SOLOMON her dog. There is also a place to donate and a thermometer to show how much money has been raised. I have changed the goal to 2000 dollars because of the overwhelming response of good people who want to help. There have been soooo many donations for the garage sale and for that, I am truly grateful. I put my e-mail address on the website incase anyone wants to tell me something. Feel free to e-mail me. It’s kinda small so if you cant find it, its keirawatters@hotmail.com. If anyone thinks there is something I should put on the site please tell me. I know some people must be wondering how I am giving them the money so let me explain. This summer me and my mother are traveling to Washington to visit the Buckles and give them the money personally. We are also going to Utah to visit the Herrin twins. I am so excited! I have been counting down the days since last summer. But anyways, that’s not till August. Sigh. Ill write more later about more things coming but right now you’ll just have to wait…

Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Yeah. I know. It’s corny. But corny as it is its true. Im home! I missed my friends and my geckos, and I even missed school a little bit (a very little bit) but now I miss my family so its kinda a win/lose situation. Sigh, oh well. As I said before my family gave me some money for Toonies For Twins and I’ll have to add it up later because I have to unpack it first. Bye

The Fundraising Continues...

My uncle Paddy gave me 100 (!) U.S. dollars to go to Toonies For Twins. And a few more of my one thousand relatives have also told me they would give me a few bob.(tee hee, bob!)(money) But for now, that brings the grand total to.......one thousand, one hundred and five...I think. Thanks Paddy!

Ireland 2

I was wrong. My mother only knows half the country. The other half we are related to!

Ireland

Im here! Ireland is great, but the stupid time difference is throwing my internal clock way off. I am sooooooo tired! I have like 157 cousins and thats probably not as much of an exaggeration as it seems. On top of that, my mother knows the whole country so we never go any where without meeting someone she knows! Its very interesting.

PS: its 3:35 pm here!

The Mystery Commenter

There is a very mysterious person who has been following my blog whom I’ve decided to name The Mystery Commenter. (tee hee) I decided to make it my mission to find out who this person is. You know who you are…I can see you…and I will find you…OOGALIEMOOGALIE!

Urg

Sorry for not updating, it’s been a busy week. Lots of stuff happening. Anyways, after consulting the peanut gallery I feel I should mention that at my choirs winter concert 200$ was raised on admission fees. The rest was made by donations and a raffle with about 8 prizes. On another note, this Friday I am taking a trip to Ireland for 10 days to see my family and attend my cousins wedding. The one bad thing about it is that I have four geckos whom will have to be left behind:’( But I’m not worried because I’m leaving them in capable hands. The weather is really warming up and that means garage sale season is fast approaching! Id better start planning……some of the choir members were not present in the picture I posted earlier so I will have to hunt down the other one and post it. Well, that’s about it for now. Bye!

PS: HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY RILEY!
(she’s a gecko)

Choir

Sorry for the long pause between updates. I’ve had a busy week. Anyway here are the pictures of my choir. For our winter concert they picked Toonies For Twins to donate all the proceeds to. That concert raised over 300 dollars, which is a good portion of the grand total. Thanks guys!

Conjoined Birthdays!

Id like to wish a very happy birthday to Jade and Erin Buckles who turn five today, and to Kendra and Maliyah Herrin who turn seven. Ironically, all these girls are formerly conjoined twins born on the same day two years apart. Isn’t that funny? Most conjoined twins don’t make these brilliant milestones so congratulations girls!

Mischievously

Im posting this from school... Awesome!

Color Scheme

Just so it’s known, I’m not a girly girl and pink was not my first choice for the color scheme. I chose pink as the color for Toonies For Twins because more conjoined twins are girls than boys. Not that I don’t support conjoined twins who are boys, but there really are more girls.

We did it!

Oh boy, do I ever have news! Last night my mother went and e-mailed this link to everyone she new and Lesley Anderson (my newly appointed best friend!) has offered to pay the exchange for American currency. This is so great! I then went to babysit for a few hours and made thirty dollars! Of course that all went to Toonies for twins witch brings the total up to… $960 but oh, what’s this? I forgot the $20 my wonderful mother put in my box yesterday, which makes it $980. When I got home from babysitting my mother informed me that her boyfriend’s mother, Dawn had made a donation of $20 dollars…$1000! Oh my gosh, we did it! And by “we” I mean every single person who has ever made a donation or helped me with fundraising. Thank you!

E-fair

Sorry I didn’t update yesterday, it was a really busy day. At the E-fair things started out slow. REALLY slow. But then it got better and when I counted my money at the end of the day it was $60! As I said before all the money goes to Toonies for twins so that brings the grand total to...$930! Can you believe it! I had to check it twice I was so shocked. But really that’s only about $740 in American. But between the garage sale and the concert I think I will have 1000 U.S. I won’t stop till I do. Yesterday I got to babysit a ball of fluff disguised as a dog for six hours! That dog is so sucky, she is treated like a baby! Guess what her name is…Cupcake! :) Just thought id let you know. Ill post pictures from the e-fair tomorrow (or whenever I get them) Bye!

Sick day

My day started bright and early at 4 in the morning when I ran to the bathroom and puked my guts out. This would happen twice more before the decision was finally made that I would not be going to school today. I was miserable all day and very sore from puking. EWWW. No matter what I did today I could not get comfortable. I then decided that it was a good idea to go to choir tonight after only getting 4 hours of sleep last night. Wrong. I am so exhausted. Tomorrow at school the grades eights have an entrepreneurial fair. It’s a fair where we manufacture and sell a product. I made bracelets and all the money I make will be to help Erin get a service dog. I will post pictures and let you all know how it went tomorrow. I still have soooo much to do! Bye

PS: I really hate being sick:(

Bithdays, birthdays, birthdays!

Keira and Frankie
Andi, Carly, Chelsey, Keira and Frankie

Andi, Carly, Keira, Frankie and Chelsey

Chelsey, Carly, Andi, Frankie and Keira

These are the pictures from the sleepover I had with my friends. It was a surprise birthday party for Frankie and Andi. There birthday is on the 20th but since Chelsey wont be here we decided to do it on Saturday. I made the names in the color of our hats so you know who is who. The twins had no idea we were doing this and the look on there faces when we brought down the cake was priceless. Those kinds of things are the real perks in life. When everyone left the next morning :( I had another birthday party to go to that lasted 10 hours! It was a blast; we all had so much fun! That’s why I was so tired last night and all I could give was a pathetic update. I got five more dollars last night for Toonies for twins witch brings the grand total to 865$...YAY! I’ll have the money in no time! My goal is 1000 but I think I might go over that. I’m not objecting. That would be awesome! I’ll write more later. Bye!

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE-ANN
